Cheese Turnovers

A few friends popped over during the weekend and I needed to quickly throw together some finger foods. The ICA cheese turnovers caught my eye and seemed like a tasty choice!
Here’s how I got on...
The turnovers certainly were a tasty choice! And very versatile, the recipe can be altered to include different meats, cheeses, herbs, and can be eaten hot or cold.  I used cooked ham in mine rather than bacon, I made them into a variety of shapes and ate them straight out of the oven once they had cooled.

Cheese Custard Pie

The ICA website contains some wonderful crafts and recipes from as early as the 50s. One that caught my eye this weekend was the Cheese Custard Pie from 1965. Cheese custard pie is now popular known as the quiche, and if you’re looking for an easy and adaptable recipe to have under your belt, this is the one for you.

Here's how i got on.....

What's great about the quiche is that it can be adapted to suit what’s in your fridge and press being as simple as just cheddar or as refined as caramelised onion and camembert. Certainly worth a try!
