Cross-Stitch Bookmark

During the winter months there is nothing better than sitting by the fire with a craft project. I found this gem in the ICA Book of Crafts and decided to gift it to my mother who is an avid book reader.

I made some small changes to the pattern to suit the aida and colour threads that I had in my craft box. These changes were easily done.

The pattern is simple and the instructions provided were easy to follow. This book mark only took me a few hours after work over two days to complete.  The two blues I chose where too close in colour to be easily distinguished apart and the yellow is quite muted so next time I will definitely use more contrasting colours.
